"My heater was acting up & it's freezing.


I went on Google to find reputable air conditioning & heating repair guy. Johnston's Mechanical was the 4th one on that list. The other 3 businesses just had answering machine.

I talked to Art and he gave me a reasonable rate to take a look at my heater.

I had an old thermostat and got a quote for him to change that as well.


Art diagnosed that the heat sensor was corroded, causing the flame to shut down while the fan kept on blowing (cold air).

He cleaned the heat sensor instead of replacing it and saved me $40 by doing so. He's honest, he could have just told me it needed to be changed & I would not have known, big plus for Art.


I would definitely recommend Art & Johnston's Mechanical to anyone & I'll definitely be a repeat customer."

"I Called Johnston's Mechanical Services around 8:30 at night and left a message, he called me back within minutes and we proceeded to make a appointment for the next morning at 8am. The next morning he was here at 8  AM on the dot.  He was very polite and professional, and made easy work of the job I needed him to do.  He picked up all of his work mess and left my house spotless.  While he was here we ran into a problem with the old thermostat, it had to be replaced. Conveniently Art had some new ones in his truck, avoiding a home depot trip or any other hiccups to make the job problematic or longer.  My husband and I just found our permanent ac guy! I am a VERY picky person about service. When my AC died I called for several estimates. Johnston's Mechanical Services was friendly and competent on the phone. Service technician (Art) was on time and clean. Fixed the problem promptly. Final bill was close enough to the over-the-phone estimate (not bad considering the estimate was made based only on my description of the problem, not the technician's diagnosis).

I would highly recommend them as being honest, prompt and competent and would use them again.
